Why We Should Not Lower the Voting Age
There has been a lot of discussion on whether or not the US should decrease our minimum voting age. Lowering the voter age to include minors would reduce the average amount of knowlege known by the US' voters. Regressing the minimum voter age could also have terrible, authoritarian results. The current voting age, 18, is the age when you first become legally classified as an adult, and are expected to have graduated high school. The public schooling system is mandated by the federal government, with little to no laws governing the bias of assignments/textbooks issued to students.
