Have you ever wanted to keep an exotic pet as an animal? Well, in the United States you can’t. The U.S. has a law against exotic animals being kept as pets, saying class one animals are illegal to possess and include bears, large cats, rhinos, crocodiles, and primates. Class two animals are allowed only with a permit and include howler monkeys, macaques, bobcats, cougars, wolves and more. There are more pros to exotic pets than people think. Exotic pets are low in maintenance and the perfect choice for people who know how to care for animals. U.S. citizens should be allowed to keep exotic animals as pets.
“Exotic pet” is just a term that means “uncommon pet”. Anything that's not a dog or cat can qualify as an exotic pet. Like people own lizards and snakes and most people are of fine with that. Why not a leopard or a monkey? Because they are not common pets and because most people don't know how to take care of exotic pets.
