“By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination” said Christopher Columbus on his voyage to the new world. Columbus’s said obstacles were of great significance, ranging from scurvy to loss of direction. Nevertheless, without half of the technological advances of today's society, Columbus still successfully infected the new world with culture, order, and disease. Even a few of today’s luxuries could have had a strong impact overall of Christopher Columbus’s career. Christopher Columbus’s voyage was less than pleasant for him and his fellow passengers.…

Calvinism is a major branch of Protestantism that follows the theological tradition and forms of Christian practice of John Calvin and other Reformation-era theologians. Calvinists broke with the Roman Catholic Church but differed with Lutherans on the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, theories of worship, and the use of God's law for believers, among other things. Calvinism can be a misleading term because the religious tradition it denotes is and has always been diverse, with a wide range of influences rather than a single founder. The movement was first called Calvinism by Lutherans who opposed it, and many within the tradition would prefer to use the word Reformed. Since the Arminian controversy, the Reformed tradition — as a branch of Protestantism distinguished from Lutheranism — divided into separate groups, Arminians and Calvinists.…

Grendel’s mother is described as “a monstrous ogress” who attacks the mead hall to avenge her son. Because Grendel’s mother is as strong as Beowulf, he has to wear full armour and use a sword in this fight. This preparation indicates that Beowulf is not confident when he has to fight with anger and vengeance. As a pagan hero, Beowulf believes in vengeance: “It is better for a man/ to avenge his friend than to refresh his sorrow” (1383-4). He sets up to kill Grendel’s mother to avenge Ashhere, Hthrogar’s counsellor.…

The lack of action and the incompetence of the HEW was the main reason Title IX was stalled in its start. Inspired by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title IX declared that women were not allowed to be denied on the basis of gender of educational programs by government funded institutions but took years for the same women who actively fought to pass the Title to see it in action. With disgraceful lack of enforcement of both the Department of Health, Education and Welfare and the narrow definition that emphasized “federal funding”; the document allowed room for those who wanted to discriminate based on gender. In 1972, Title IX passed after two rigorous attempts women celebrated at the opportunities that were newly presented to them but soon…

While this may be true in some respects, history has shown to the contrary. Baral can be responsible for some fairly unfun decks when his first ability is the primary focus, but what I want to look at harder is the second ability (while still, of course, making use of the first ability—after all, cost reduction is great!). Looting is a wonderful thing, and there are plenty of ways to maximize its effects. Plus, since this is Commander and people aren’t curving out on you, you can focus on countering important spells with cards that generate additional value when you do so. I’ll note that there’s definitely a Wizard angle you can take with this deck—I’m not going too far in that direction this time around, but cards like Patron Wizard and Azami, Lady of Scrolls can enable that. Our Wizard theme is much more incidental.…

This essay endeavours to look at the two opposing views and outline the main issues that are being debated. I will then look at why the issues being discussed are important for how we approach theology and Christian living. In Confucianism, social scales were reformed to allow individuals to advance socially with talent and intelligence, by diminishing the significance of class. Socially, Confucius created 5 basic relationships. The first basic relationship being between the ruler and the subject, where the ruler is inferior and the subject is superior. The relationship between a father and a son, would be that the father would be in control because of his wisdom and his son would respect and abide by his father.
