To understand the rest of the information in this paper there has to be some supporting facts and figures. First of all Gregor Mendel is the acclaimed father of genetics. He was the first one to record his findings and had an acceptable theory that has evolved to what we know today. This is not without good reason, but how will humanity learn if it cannot try to push the boundaries. The reasons behind the illegality are the fact that it is dangerous, not much is known of the long term side effects, and the government doesn't want to anger the large amount of people that believe that it is unethical. In total, 15 countries have allowed genetic manipulation of humans on their countries claimed land(Gould, 1).
