PROS & CONS –
When we are looking for a computing device, there are many options out in the market. Today, a decision one may think about this whether to purchase a laptop or a smartphone. Both provides computing capabilities, run software and perform many tasks, but there are many factors to consider between the two options. Below is a chart to highlight some of the important factors to consider, including the advantage and disadvantage of each.
Most users today have both a smartphone and laptop in their homes and use a smartphone for phone calls, messaging, browsing the Internet, reading e-mail, and other small jobs and then a laptop for more complicated projects or work. They can run a fully featured version of an operating system with the option to choose your operating system on them. Tablets come with a slimmed down operating system due to having more limited computing power and memory. The Apple iOS and Android OS are adequate operating systems for tablet users, but not as the fully featured OS found in a laptop. Even the Windows operating system found on select smartphones is a slimmed down version of that found on a laptop.
Data Entry and user input Keyboard is used for data entry in Laptop’s and users are familiar and comfortable using this. In addition to a keyboard, the touchpad is also available for scrolling and clicking and moving the pointer. Smartphones most commonly feature touch on-screen keyboard that is way to small than a standard keyboard and can be difficult for users to type with, especially users with bigger fingers.
