As mentioned during the explanation for the interventions used for feeding, the level of sensory awareness is a safety concern. So one such intervention is to give Miles a simple thermometer that he can read that that he may test his bath water temperature. This may involve modifying a thermometer with colored lines or tape to help Miles identify where the level should be. A wash mitt or stick may also be provided to Miles in order to maximize his range of motion and independence. Other interventions for bath include supplying visual and verbal cues that show the sequencing of bath time (get wet, wash hair, rinse, etc.). This intervention also helps with another goal. The final intervention technique is to supply and deposited the wash materials directly to him. So instead of Miles having to squeeze the soap onto his hand or wash device, a helper may do that for him. This should only be done until Miles has the required base skills, such as strength and coordination, to do it himself. This also means that the bottles can be removed from the area so that Miles cannot knock them down and onto himself, which is a concern due to him batting at objects and having poor muscle
