Prometheus decides to present his experiment and its results to the World Council of Scholars. Once Prometheus presents his box of electricity to the Scholars, they are immediately struck by terror. “ ‘A wretch who have broken all the laws and boast of their infamy! How dared you think your mind held greater wisdom than the minds of your brothers?’ ”(Rand 71) They agree that the box must be destroyed and Prometheus should be punished for his actions. Prometheus, unable to comprehend their reaction to his experiment, grabs his box and rushes out of the city. Knowing he will not be discovered, he heads straight for the Uncharted Forest. It is not until he reaches the forest, that he truly feels the freedom and liberty of being an individual. Determination led Prometheus to show the council his experiment, even though the result was not what he expected. He left his life in the city, without looking back, knowing that if he remained the consequences would be grim. With each experiment, he risked death, yet he not only continued to conduct them without fear or doubt, but also showed them to the Scholars. After entering the Uncharted Forest, he was soon met by the Golden One. Together, they find a house and find themselves filled with hope for a brighter future away from their collectivism society.
