Procrastinators Vs Motivated Research

Decent Essays
The three major differences between procrastinators and motivated individuals are their work ethic, passion, and their plan.

Motivated individuals have a higher work ethic than procrastinators. People who procrastinate are known to put off all of their work to the side and wait to do it until the very last minute. Piers Steel (2012) states, “There are a lot of options out there and there is bound to be something you despise” (para. 2). He is explaining to us that most people who procrastinate typically have a kind of job that they don’t enjoy. When you are doing something you don’t like to do, you tend to put it off. They have a low work ethic. On the other hand, people who tend to stay motivated have a high work ethic. They enjoy what they are doing so, they tend to do it as soon as possible and not just put it off. These kinds of people typically can’t wait until the last minute to do anything. They enjoy having it done. Having a passion for what you are doing is very important.

They tend to not enjoy what they are doing. They wait until they absolutely have to do something because they just hate doing it. They put themselves in a situation where they have no desire to do anything. They don’t care about the task at hand. People who are motivated tend to enjoy the task at hand. They put their all into it. They get excited about what they are doing and it makes them feel good. Because of that, they tend to get it done with time to spare. These kinds of people go above and beyond for everything. You always have to have a plan

Do you find yourself frantically searching for your keys or the shoes you swore you kicked off in the living room just last night? Do you promise yourself each day as you walk out the door that when you return back home, you will finally tackle that disturbing mess you just left behind only to return home tired and so far removed from the early morning panic that you don't do anything to lessen the mess? You kick off a second pair of shoes and the cycle continues. Procrastination and disorganization go hand in hand and the consequences are more serious than just being late for work. Low levels of stress from nagging thoughts, such as guilt and shame, are associated with chronic disorganization.…

Procrastinators disassociate themselves with their future self or believe that the present self is worse off doing the work. Even though we will eventually be forced to a single outcome, we still delay the inevitable for no actual reason. We have a false belief of happiness now being better than happiness later. The fact that people will go out of their way to avoid doing something so measly as the dishes astonishes me. As the dishes pile up, it gets less desirable to clean them until you’re eating cereal out of Tupperware with a serving spoon.…

Self-motivation is the power that makes the person carry out more than what they set to do. Individuals who are self-motivated will dependably need to put forth a valiant effort and will often assume liability in spite of what they don't need to do. However, Self-motivated individuals will tend to put in longer hours of work and get to develop into leaders, figure out how to create and learn new attitudes, and get sorted out and in particular deal with their time. Furthermore, inside any organization, individuals need to prove themselves in order to show what they’ve already accomplished in the presence of motivation. A motivated person will perform at the greatest limit in their jobs and will get the sense of how hard they work to earn money…
