Today, many woman and men think that changing your oil an oil filter can only be done by the professionals. Some feel it would be filled with headaches and possibilities of messing up your entire car. Honestly, its ones of the easiest car maintenances projects that anyone can achieve with patience and observation. Changing your oil filter and oil can be an easy task that would spare only 20- 40 minutes of your day and it is very cost effective, all you would need is a few materials all found at your local auto store. If you spend a few moments with your car manual to locate the oil cap on your engine, oil pan and oil filter. You now have the most important knowledge to completing your first oil and oil filter change. `There are a few tools and materials you will need to accomplish an oil and oil filter change. First, I will talk about the tools needed; you will need a jack lift and a jack stand to support the car. Usually a car should include a jack lift in the trunk near the spare tire. If there is no jack lift in your trunk you can stack up three or four bricks in a stair formation and drive your car on the bricks, you will need to remember to put your car’s emergency brake on. Now, once you jack it up you will want to grab a jack stand, cement brick or chunk of wood to put under the car to hold it stable, you will need to find a specific spot called the lifting point. Also, place the emergency brake on after its stable. Another tool you will need is either an adjustable wrench; if you have a tool case, you can look at the drain plug nut and size it up to find the right size.
