Process Essay: How To Be A Leader

It takes a lot of skill to be a leader. Whether you’re leading a class or leading a country, a leader must have what it takes to make it through any situation. Almost every group needs a leader. However, not just anyone can be a leader. To be a leader you must be experienced, determined, and responsible. Being an experienced leader takes time. Many political officials had years worth of past experience before running for an office. Leaders won’t know how to lead as well if they’ve never been in that sort of position before. However, most run for a higher position because they’re well liked and work well under pressure, not just because they know how to control people. Experience helps leaders learn the Do’s and Don’ts of leading and allows them to figure out if leading is the right choice. If a person decides they want to become a leader, they must take steps towards that goal; they cannot just jump to the end. Since a new leader cannot just go from nothing to being on top, that person must be determined to achieve the highest level of power in leading. Determination is all about setting goals and achieving them. Leading helps a person become determined and finish whatever project they start. If a person wants to become a leader, they must stand their ground and commit to their views. Constant changing of a leader’s opinion makes the followers of that leader amass to be more unsure of those beliefs expressed. Therefore, leaders must take responsibility for what they’ve done. Wonderful or terrible, a leader must own up to their actions. A good leader takes responsibility for their success.
