There is no way to absolutely prevent the disease, but there are proactive measure you can take to lessen the chance of having it (Prevention 2013). There are ways to lower your risk of the disease. One is to use hormone birth control. Since I am a first degree carrier to my daughter our physician has already taken proactive steps to educate her and me on how hormonal birth control can lessen the chance of her getting the disease. Although it’s not 100% effective, it may if you do get endometriosis, keep the disease to a minimum. Pregnancy is also another suggested measure, but with endometriosis it’s a catch-22. Endometriosis & infertility go hand in hand so it may be effective in stopping the progression and possibly helping with regression,
