They view abortion in this way because they do not view the baby as being alive. Right to Life supporters see it as murder and something that should never be done. In multiple places, the Bible says “Thou shalt not murder,” Individuals who believe abortion is wrong view abortion as murder, and therefore do not think it is ethical. Finally, there are also those who are on the fence about abortion. These people believe that an abortion is wrong except when the mother’s health is in danger or if the mother has been raped.
Furthermore, in seeking a career as a pediatrician being faced with the topic of abortion will be a topic commonly discussed. An option would be to strive to convince expectant mothers who come and ask about abortion that there are other options. On a broader level, some congressmen might try to stand up and discuss the issue of abortion and why they believe it should not be legal. If a person wants to make an impact, one option would be to send a letter to their representative in Congress to explain their feelings about abortion and what the congressman can do to make an impact.
