These are the "so-called" seven deadly sins that are the worst possible transgressions for humans to ever commit. But of those seven which was gotten the worst rap. Pride. Pride was the first sin committed since the beginning of time. In the bible, it says that because of Lucifer’s lust for power God forced him down to Earth to rule in his very own kingdom, which is Hell. Because of this, he caused Adam and Eve to commit the very first sin done by man. Therefore, pride became the root cause of all the sins we commit and will commit in the future. But can pride only be looked at negatively? No. In fact, I think that just because pride has been labeled a sin that does not mean that it is bad in every single context. Pride came from the word “proud”, which came from the late Old English word meaning “put”, and in French means brave or valiant. According to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary, pride is an emotion that can be two sides of the same coin. On the one side, pride is the product of praise,self-reflection, or a contented feeling of belonging. On the other side, pride can be a dispute with the truth.
