Childhood Obesity is one of the many growing health concerns in America. Obesity is the condition of being overweight or when someone has accumulated too much body fat. Obesity can cause serious health effects on someone, especially on a child and adolescent. To understand how to reduce childhood obesity we must first comprehend how it starts.
Obesity can be caused by eating excess amount of food, and not burning it off through physical activity. Having a poor diet,such as eating foods that are high in fat or sugar can overtime lead to obesity. Lack of exercise is another factor. The body doesn't burn as many calories when at rest. Obesity is genetic, if someone in the family has had it there is a probability their children will too. Having this

Due to their physique not being “socially” acceptable their self esteem could go down. Some teens could suffer from depression and from depression comes other issues. It can lead to an eating disorder like anorexia and bulimia nervosa.
Obesity can also hurt someone economically, in this case, the parents. Expenses from frequent medical doctor visits, diagnostic studies, therapeutic services, and nutritionist can take a toll on the person who is paying it. Childhood obesity can be prevented. The first step is changing the eating habits.
Parents could reduce the amount of fatty and sugary foods they give to their children that might cause them to gain so much excess weight. Also making healthy home meals instead of buying food from fast food restaurants benefits the child in so many ways . A child is growing and to grow strong and healthy they need the right nutrients and proteins in their body. Junk deprives them of these useful vitamins and nutrients.
In conclusion, childhood obesity is serious problem that could cause serious harm to a child but if preventive actions are placed children and teens could get better and could reduce chances of getting other health
