Millions of tax dollars are spent annually to shelter and care for stray, abandoned and unwanted pets. Human health is threatened by the danger of transmittable diseases (including rabies), animal bites and attacks. Shelters do their best to place animals in loving homes, but the number of homeless animals far exceeds the number of willing adopters. This leaves many loving and healthy animals in our community that are homeless and abandoned. Spaying and neutering a larger population of animals is critical in helping our community to control the pet population and spread of…

The fact that there is a debate on whether health care is a right of every American or not is just astonishing. How is it that there are people deciding whether other human beings should have rights? What makes those people who are deciding the “worthy” ones? It honesty baffles me that some think that just because someone is poor, a minority, a woman, or of a different sexual orientation then suddenly they don’t have certain rights, and eventually there could be a vote for them to have it or to not have it. Why are some people considered less than others just because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion?…

Health care is a very controversial topic because many are not happy with the new “Obama care” coverage due to the fact that it requires state funding. Some tax payers do not feel they should be responsible for paying for people who need health coverage. Individuals that go long periods of time without regular check-ups are at risk for medical conditions that require serious extensive medical treatment. Personally, I believe that everyone should have affordable health care coverage.…
