In the days leading up to this dreadful and horrific day, president Nixon had a certain fear that he may never again be elected. Instead of honorably provoking his campaign and working harder to outrun George McGovern, who was the senator of South Dakota, he proceeded to infiltrate the Watergate Hotel. This hotel was no random and insignificant place, it was the democratic headquarters during the voting process. And Nixon had the idea to hire a group of his advisors that included ( Charles Colson, John Ehrlichman, H.R. Haldeman, Robert Mardian, John Mitchell, Kenneth Parkinson, and Jordan Strachan.) This group of men was also known as the Watergate seven. And their job was to break into the hotel and steal information that could benefit Nixon in his re- election.
