I will, with instructor consolation, select one fungus to focus on that causes a health condition, preferably related to oral health. This selection will be geared towards my academic interest in biology as a pre-health student, and more specifically a pre-dental student. I will then compose a review paper after reading and researching more about said fungus. This review will include an up-to-date summary of what is known about this fungus and the related disease, with emphasis on the most recent publications.
This will be different from the standard coursework for this class because it is primarily lab based, so this will give me the opportunity to do research on a specific fungus and will help me related it to the field I am interested in
