The U.S government has three branches, the legislative, executive, and judicial. All three branches have their own powers and responsibilities. Each branch has to work with each other to make sure that the peoples’ rights are protected and the government is functional.
The House and Senate make up the legislative branch and together they make up the Congress. The legislative branch creates all laws, controls foreign commerce and interstate, taxing and spending policies, and declares war.
