After reading the “The Power of Birth Order” article, I’ve learned that there is an importance in the order at which we are born. A group of Norwegian researchers found that firstborns are generally smarter than the other siblings who are born after. Later born siblings tend to be shorter and weigh less than the earlier-born child. First-born children may find themselves in higher paying professions than younger siblings. A second born child is likely to be an artist or comedian because of their ability to make everyone laugh by being funny or outrageous. All siblings are equally likely to play a sport, however, younger siblings are more likely to play sports that could cause injury. If I have any problems, I talk to them about it and they are open to help and listen to me. My relationship with my brother is also very strong. I help him out with anything he needs and he helps me out too. My relationship with my friends is strong as well. I get along well with everyone I meet and I am a very approachable person. Many of my friends come to me with problems and other issues. In the classroom, I am very successful and high achieving. I am constantly setting goals for myself and I never stop working for them until it is accomplished. Outside of school I play two sports and obtain a job at Scheels. I would not say that I am higher achieving or better at sports than my brother because I know he has a bright future in athletics. My future aspiration is to go to school to become a successful doctor or surgeon.
