Knowing how to provide effective feedback and when the appropriate time to do so, will further expand the overall communication level within a company. Whether feedback may be positive or negative, it is the way it is communicated that will ultimately classify that piece of information as one or the other.

Positive feedback is perceived more readily and accurately than negatived is. Positive feedback attends to be more accepted, it works on a person’s strengths, it explain how the well the employee is doing and praises him for satisfy performance, and it’s what most of the time what employees want to hear. Managers can give positive feedback formal or informally, for example performance evaluations or a comment made during weekly meetings. According to our textbook, there are ten requirements that help send effective messages. Providing relevant information is essential as well as being honest. You must be relevant and honest in order to provide the correct and most helpful feedback in any situation. Also, you must use multiple channels of communication. It is important to for you to be complete and specific. Going back to the first skill mentioned, providing relevant information, being complete and specific goes hand-in-hand. You must disclose all information, and be specific about what you are saying or describing in order to avoid misunderstandings. It is also significant for you to use “I” in order for the receiver to understand that the message is your own. Your nonverbal and verbal language and messages must be congruent. This means your actions as well as your words must be consistent. Furthermore, you must not forget to use language the receiver can fully comprehend. Credibility is highly important, this is why you must remain reliable, informed and updated on what you are talking about. Additionally, you must communicate in a style that is not only friendly and warm but also dynamic. You should make the receiver listening feel secure and welcomed. Finally, it is essential to confirm that you collect feedback in order to reassure that you have been fully understood.
