Patient encounter is group into three subcategories which are a patient specific, aggregate, and comparative. In addition, the patient specific date type usually consist of the medical history such as physician’s orders, consents, authorization, billing, and insurance eligibility. Also, the other main component of this data type is general operations. Next, externally comparative data come by internal and external data to assist organizations in evaluating their performance. The other main category of external information used in healthcare organizations is expert or knowledge base information which is generally collected or created by expert to be not part of the organization. Two basic types are medical reports and healthcare statistical reports. In addition, medical cost reports are usually filled annually by all hospitals, health agencies, skilled nursing facilities and hospices that accept medicare or medicaid. Furthermore, healthcare statistics are categorized into two groups: census statistics and discharge statistics. Census statistics provide information to the number of patients present at any one time in a facility in a comparison to discharge statistics which is the data calculated from the data collection sets which accumulated over time when the patients are released from the …show more content…
In addition, the highest quality of data is mitigated on the most fundamental level for data build on top of each other. It would be extremely difficult to retract back to the basic level of data to correct the issues due to possible linkages between these data sets and the original operational nomenclature. Furthermore the information in the patient's medical record which has clinical measures needs to be accurate so the reflective reimbursement code and research is correct. Next, the medical information is shared among many healthcare providers and prayers and this establish network depends on the accuracy and high quality of the data in order to administer the appropriate medical treatment to their patients. The reason for poor quality data is due to the content and form structure.
