Pool Tables Lab Report

Pool Pockets POW For this POW we had to figure out how many rebounds a ball would make on a pool table and which pocket it would land in if the pool table is rectangular and it’s dimensions are whole numbers, the ball always starts at a 45 degree angle in the lower left corner, the ball always rebounds at a 45 degree angle, and the ball keeps going until it hits one of the pockets which are only in the corners. I started out by drawing rectangles on a piece of graph paper to represent the pool tables. Then I drew lines rebounding at 45 degree angles, until the lines hit one of the pockets, to represent the path of the ball. Finally, I counted the number of rebounds the ball made so I could put it with the other data I collected and try

Purpose and Background Cells divide in two ways, mitosis and meiosis. Mitosis is used to produce cells that are genetically identical to the parent cell for growth, asexual reproduction, or repair after injury. Cells that are produced by mitosis are diploid, meaning that they have two complete sets of chromosomes, one from each parent. Meiosis is used to produce haploid cells that have only one set of chromosomes, a mix of chromosomes from both parents. Meiosis produces cells that are genetically unique from their parent cells.…

Sediments that were eroded at or near Linganore High School end up in the Chesapeake Bay. Sediments eroded from rocks in Linganore Creek and are carried to the Monocacy River. From there, the sediments are taken to the Potomac River. The Potomac River’s water and anything loose in it are dispensed into the Chesapeake Bay.…

Results A total of 383 scallops were collected in this survey, with scallops present on 66 out of the 151 transects surveyed. The mean size (ANOVA, F(380, 2)=13.9, p< 0.05) and recreational area (p<0.05) (Table 2). The greatest average density per site was observed within Paterson Inlet with 0.21 scallops per m2 at site M2, in the inner inlet (Figure 2). The next highest average density per site was found at site M9 in the outer inlet with a density less than half of the greatest density at 0.06 scallops per m2 (Figure 2). Four sites contained no scallops in any of the transects surveyed (Rec3, M8, D1 & D4; Figure 1 & 2).…

Describe, briefly two cellular reactions that involve ATP hydrolysis (you will probably find the answer more quickly on Google than in your book). ATP is simply a renewable resource which is actually rejuvenated when adenosine diphosphate is mixed with a phosphate group. On the other hand, ATP hydrolysis is basically a method used by the human body to be able to release energy chemically to some other body parts in order for life to be sustained. In the process, ATP is actually converted to form Adenosine diphosphate ADP and a lot of heat is lost and the result is basically the production of heat and chemical energy. It is important to note that ADP can be further converted to form Adenosine Monophosphate and energy is also released.…

To introduce the concept of order of operations to the students I would first write PEMDAS on the board which stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction. I would put brackets around M and D, and A and S, to show that they are grouped together in the order of operations. “One misconception by students is that all multiplication should happen before all division because the multiplication comes before division in the acronym. In fact, multiplication and division have the same precedence and should be evaluated as they appear from left to right.”(NCTM) I would explain to them that we are going to go over a few expressions using the order of operations then we are going to play a game of bingo using the order of operations.…

A: The purpose of heating the seaweed was so that it turned into ash. We did this by placing the seaweed in a tin and burning it from the Bunsen burner. This was done so we could get iodine from the seaweed to use in the experiment. This produces the iodine we need to begin the experiment. A problem that could have occurred was placing too much seaweed in the tin so it took a lot longer to burn.…

Purpose: The overall goal of this lab was to perform a procedure on E. Coli which involved transferring genes that encoded for the green fluorescent protein into E. Coli to see if the transferred genes would make a difference on the growth and whether or not the bacteria would glow under UV light. Hypothesis: If the bacteria with the pGLO plasmid was grown on a plate containing LB and ampicillin then the bacteria will grow but not glow under UV light. If the bacteria with the pGLO plasmid was grown on a plate containing LB, ampicillin, and arabinose then it will be able to grow and glow under UV light. If the bacteria without pGLO plasmid was grown on a plate containing LB and ampicillin then it will not be able to grow or glow under UV light.…

Discussion The aim of this experimental report was to analyse and examine several water quality parameters including dissolved oxygen, water temperature and turbidity, in order to determine the overall state of health within Freshwater creek. Once the results from each parameter were collected, from both locations, it was that found they each had multiple interrelationships between each other as well as several anomalies which could have potentially skewed the final results. It was initially decided at the beginning of the dissolved oxygen experimentation that a reading would be collected from two locations with different features, in order to present a representation of the specific amounts of dissolved oxygen in different areas. It was evident…
