Pompeii was covered in ashes after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79. The eruption discharged lava to a height of 33 kilometers. The volcano spewed out hot ash and molten rock at a rate of 1.5 million tons per second. The overall deaths that occurred are unknown but they have discovered over 1500 body remains at Pompeii and Herculaneum. The screams from all those who were in shock and who were injured crying out to love ones who had lost their life. Misery occurred on the town after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
