Also it is very rare for you to get a genetic mutations from Polycystic kidney disease. If any other types of disease are caused by PKD it is to others genetic flaws in this category. These 2 other diseases are known as Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. This disease, which shows signs at ages 30-40 and only 1 parent need to have it in their genes which gives a 50% chance of getting it. The other disease is autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease also known as ARPKD, is less common . ARPKD shows symptoms that usually appear shortly after birth …show more content…
Polycystic Kidney Disease is not sex-linked . Actually Polycystic Kidney Disease is a disease inherited by your parents sent or passed on by genes which allows you to inherit this disease. Only one parent needs to have this disorder for you to inherit this disease . 50% of which a child will inherit a gene disorder for Polycystic Kidney Disease.
Mutations in the PKD1, PKD2, and PKHD1 genes cause PKD. Mutations in either the PKD1 or PKD2 gene can cause autosomal dominant PKD, PKD1 gene mutations cause ADPKD type 1, and PKD2 gene mutations. Cause AD2 gene mutations cause ADPKD type 2 (jasn.asnjournals) and (ghr.nlm.nih) . ADPKD commonly inherited by a parent. ARPKD is very rare and usually not common to inherited from a parent (stsc.edu).
Polycystic Kidney Disease also carries 2 other disease making it both dominant and recessive. These 2 types of diseases are known as Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease which is dominant . Also it is really common to inherit ADPKD. The second disease is known as Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease and usually not inherited ¼ adults get this disease. Which makes ARPKD is recessive and rare to come across
