The Poison Darwin Dart frog derived from the joining of a Darwin frog and a Poison Dart frog. It is classified in domain Eukarya because it contains eukaryotic cells, uses the process cell division to replicate, and it is a multicellular organism. It is in kingdom Animalia because it is a multicellular chemoheterotroph and does not have cell wall (Domain Eukarya 1). In phylum Chordata because the Poison Darwin Dart frog contains a notochord, a hollow nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, and a postanal tail (Phylum Chordata 1). In class Amphibia because frogs live in water when they are tadpoles and their eggs need to develop in water and when they grow can live on land. Order Anura is another name that refers to frogs or toads.

The environments they usually live in are tropical rain forests, swamps, streams, or fields.
Characteristics
These frogs are usually small and can grow from 2.5 to 3.5 centimeters. It can live from the minimum of three years to a maximum of fifteen years. Their head is triangular shaped, has a pointed snout, and a round body. Frogs do not have a tail only in the tadpole stage which allows them to swim around and transport themselves to different parts of the pond. Their skin is the way they use to breathe and manage their body temperature. Because they are cold-blooded animals, they maintain heat by being under the sun and if they are too warm they move to a shaded area to cool down. The frog can be yellow, blue, black, green, grey, red, or brown. But these bright colors also serve as a purpose to warn future predators to stay aways from them because if they do not it can bring certain consequences.
