Poem Analysis: The Fence, By Langston Hughes

This poem written by Langston Hughes tells the story of a person with dreams of equality, and opportunities, it express the feelings of somebody who feels frustrated and disappointed for the inability of full feel his/her dreams. It has many similes with the "The Fence" act one and Troy's resentment with life.

When a dream dries up like a raisin in the sun is when, we have dreams but the inclement time passes and we still feel the same about the dream, but the sun has dried our body and we are not like the grapeanymore, now we are old, full of wrinkles like the raisin but still sweet inside, still wishing to accomplish our dream.
