Oligarchy: form of government ruled by few but also had elements of monarchy because of the rule of kings, democracy because of the election of council/senators, and aristocracy because of the upper class ruling and owning land.

One way he led so well is because of his military drive. Leading his army of 35,000 soldiers, he conquered from Greece to India. He was a remarkable soldier and leader. Alexander ruled an extensive amount of land but that did not mean he was going to throw in the towel and cease the expansion of his empire. He and his army kept pushing on and was successful in starting a city known as Egypt at the mouth of the Nile River which allowed for in immense amount of trading. Following that, he continued to expand eastward to India’s border. It took Alexander’s entire army saying no more fighting to halt Alexander’s expansion. He was a determined warrior and leader that fought right along with his people. If it wasn’t for his determination, work ethic, and passion to succeed, western civilization would have started completely differently. Because of all the land he conquered using his military, he was able to start a civilization. Another component to the society that Alexander the Great built contained a cultural setting in which the strong survived. In his society, men were expected to be strong, and the women equally so. In a way, resembling the Greek city state of Sparta, a state with a strong army. Due to this extreme strength of culture, and belief in the strength of the Alexander as a strong political leader, his empire had the ability and did in fact did spread rapidly. As Alexander the Great proved victorious on the battlefield he was able to spread his language through 20+ city states, which through his control of the territory he was also able to build a strong economy through trade. The final component to Alexander’s success is where he stood politically. Part of his success is due to the time frame in which he ruled. Every form of government that existed was weak and easily overpowered. This being the case, made it increasingly easy for Alexander to take over each city because
