The book “Please Understand Me II” has the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II questionnaire that examines the personality types of certain people. The questionnaire is a simple version of the famous Myers-Briggs intelligence test. The Myers-Briggs intelligence test is based on the research by Carl Jung, the psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. Carl Jung’s goal was to describe how people act in certain situations. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II questionnaire includes seventy questions, in which participants will choose either letter “a” or letter “b”, based on what they feel most resembles them. This classification has certain attributes I do identify with, while some left me confused. According to Keirsey (1998), the guardian archetype observes their surroundings, making conversation based on certain topics that are arbitrarily different from each other, often jumping from topic to topic during a conversation. This creates difficulty when talking to rationalists. Throughout the book, the conversational type is emphasized on the guardian, as they are the best with small talk. This allows the guardian archetypes to thrive for conformity. These types of people like conformity and will ensure everything is organized in a specific place. The guardians are also the best logical thinkers and operate their life with a stoic attitude to ensure emotions do not become involved. Since they can separate emotion from objective tasks and focus on pragmatic situations. According to Keirsey (1998) attribute allows the guardians to work in administrative jobs, either behind the scenes to complete tasks undetected, to providing protection to others in various situations. Some jobs might include, auditor, weighed, accountant, or healthcare provider. They see themselves as dependable and loyal, which makes them perfect for protecting people. However, these jobs do require education, and the guardians believe that education is important because it allows for practice, so they will study sciences, history, and any subject that creates practice knowledge and creates a challenge (Keirsey, 1998). The specific variant that I was classified as, was they, inspector. The make inspector personality is usually masculine, dominating, obsessed with honor, loyal, and strong, both mentally and resilience (Keirsey, 1998). The inspectors might seem callous and emotionless; however, this can also be misleading attributes of stoicism.
