Everyone likes to be in charge or better known as controlling even though some will not admit it. We like to control what we watch, read, learn, eat and much more. Even if it is degrading and can hurt someone, we find it enjoying. It is commonly known as hazing. Hazing is not something that has been invented in the last few decades. It has been around a lot longer than that. Hazing activities date back to when Plato founded his academy in 387 B.C. Plato encouraged the young men in his academy to play practical jokes on newcomers “had to be polished before he could become a regular member” (Alvarez 45).
