Planning for casualties versus fatalities in a disaster-1
Whenever a disaster occurs we are quick to think about the number of fatalities and not the casualties why? Before I answer this statement I am going to give you a brief meaning for both of the words. Causality has several definitions for instance: a person or thing badly affected by an event or situation. Fatalities on the other hand consist of a death resulting from an accident or disaster.

When we mention natural disaster in the community, it may come in the form of either a tornado, hurricane, or flooding. It most likely for an accidental occurrence to happen in the community due to the fact we have a train passing through on daily basis. I cannot recall any intentional disaster happening in the community.
If and when a disaster shall happen there are various resources throughout our community to handle the situation as it occurring. For instance we have the local MEMA, alone with the local police and fire department that would respond. Our local National Guard unit will be calling in also alone with the Red Cross to set up camp for dislocated families. A prime example of these resources at work is when Hurricane Katrina struck our community and other communities alone the Gulf coast.
Discuss the differences between rescue and recovery and the reasons rapid recovery is important. What is a rescue, a rescue is a procedure in which a person is found in the aftermath of a disaster. But a recovery consists of a group or individual trying to locate fatalities in the aftermath of a disaster. Both of them are just important when dealing a
