The first source is a picture of a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline which is a pipeline that is supposed to transport light , sweet crude oil from North Dakota to South Dakota. The picture is of people holding up signs that read “people over pipeline”, “NO DAPL”, “Protect the Sacred”, and “water us a human right”. The people in the protest are making it clear that they do not support the pipeline, it's mostly indigenous people protesting but others who care about the effect it will have on the ecosystem and water are protesting as well. Denying indigenous people the right to clean potable water is detrimental to their health, cultures, and agriculture. Most of us would agree that she makes a valid point. If we have opinions on what we want out of our government we should vote people in who represent our beliefs and values, if we don't get our pinion out there it's our own fault. Its our responsibility as an individual to get our opinions out there so they can make a difference. If we don't vote, we don't do something that could influence our government, we didn't put in any minimal influence. Even though our vote may not have much influence if we are in certain areas, it's not fair to complain if you didn't get out and vote. It’s our role to vote so that we get our say in who we want running the country, we want people who represent our ideologies. The voter in the source fulfilled her obligations to society, she voiced her concerns through her vote. She went and did her research to become aware about who was running and who she think best represents her
