At Pink Cake Box there are wonderful leaders all with different opinions and leadership styles. When I started working here the general manager was Nicole and the production manager was Lindsay. The owner and boss of everyone is Anne, she supervise everyone’s job and has the last say in any choice made. Nicole consults with the clients and does the paper work of the production being made for that week. Lindsay manages the production side everyone would asked her if that’s what the client wants on the cake or how should it be done. They had different leadership styles, but when it came down to helping us they would always help us out.

Anne also had business trips for most of the time or had meetings with clients to get new updates on the cake they want. Anne would spend most of her time with the general manager and get updated if there was new orders pushed for the week. She would also be in her office answering emails from clients. For most of the part she would work in production when we were behind or a new order has been pushed for the week. Anne would shows us new methods or give us her opinion on something we are working on. We also had meetings if we were adding new things to the menu or changing things around the kitchen.
The general manager is Nicole she overlooks everything when Anne wasn’t around or on business trips. The participative leadership values the effort of team members and peers. Nicole is in charge of having all the paper work like what orders is due for that week. When there needs to be any changes within the bakery, the participative leadership style helps employees accept changes easily because they play a role in the process. This style meets challenges when the bakery need to make a decision in a short period. She was a wonderful manager she would be very honest with us no matter what the problem

People have developed many skills and leadership styles, either to make other's lives better or as reaction against existing skills and styles, over time. For example, the idea of Capitalism was developed to provide more freedom to the people and allow them to start their own business. However, as a reaction, communism was developed to provide the equality, a lacking feature in a capitalistic society, to the people. In One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest is another example of this. Nurse Ratched used authority to gain desired, selfish results.…

Working in Chick-Fil-A leadership for 2 years, I've learned a considerable amount about the man who started the Dwarf Grill (which later grew to be called the Dwarf House.) Many know Truett Cathy both for his successful business, which ultimately became Chick-Fil-A, and his commitment to his principles. Chick-Fil-A’s continual Sunday closing is a testimony to that commitment, but that’s not the only display of his leadership qualities. The culture of Chick-Fil-A encourages a focus on individuals. I find myself running into regulars from the Chick-Fil-A that employed me, and even though I left a year and a half ago, we still recognize and greet each other happily.…

An effective leader is the first one to get up and the last one to eat and the last one to bed. A true leader is someone who doesn’t undertake the strenuous job of leading for the glory and admiration, but for the sense of joy and accomplishment his team feels afterward. Through my experiences with Venture Crew, a co-ed branch of the Boy Scouts, I have learned firsthand the definition of servant leadership; putting your groups’ wellbeing over your own benefit. Leaders shouldn’t bark orders or only oversee the work, leaders need to work with their team and pitch in to help reach the goal. When I was as NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training), I learned how to cultivate my ability to be a leader; you have to listen to everyone in the group in order to find common ground to help facilitate the group’s actions.…

A leader, as generally known, should be someone who possesses the ability to lead by example. In Ken Kesey’s novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, R.P. McMurphy is a patient in an asylum crusading against the tyranny of the head nurse, Nurse Ratched. Both McMurphy and Nurse Ratched use their resources and attributes to the fullest, yet only one of these leaders can persuade the patients to take the position of the respective side. McMurphy’s genuine and unique personality assists him in swaying the patients. On the contrary, Ratched’s emotionless, business-like approach prevents her from being sentimentally affected.…

In hindsight, I am actually not surprised the leadership quiz shows that I have a democratic type leadership style. I attribute this to my experience of working as a Medical Assistant for 9-10 years. During that time I have worked in a number of settings and under different leadership styles, which is partially why I no longer work for those companies, none of which were democratic type leaderships. I believe that if I had worked for a democratic employer then maybe I wouldn´t desire to be my own boss. Myers describes a democratic leadership style as creating an environment that is ¨...more engaged, trusting, and…[a]... effective workforce¨ (Myers, 2013, p302).…
