First, individuals can suffer from nutritional deficiencies. Second, individuals can contract a serious infection or consume poisons from the materials or items they consume. Third, individuals may incur serious intestinal problems and eventually colon obstructions may occur. Subsequently and most importantly death can occur (Hartmann, PhD, Becker, MD, PhD, Hampton, MPH, & Bryant-Waugh, BBc (Hons), MSc, DPhil, 2012). In light of the fact that Pica is not frequently heard of, additional research and data is required for knowledge of this disorder. Of course, clinical studies need to be performed so doctors can obtain additional understanding of this rarely documented psychological disorder. Meanwhile, behavioral interventions which are the main treatment today, need to continue so this disease can diminish before getting out of control (Napolitano, Blakkman, Kohl, Vallese, & McAdam, 2006). In conclusion, psychologist must continue to unravel the origin of Pica and study this disorder intensely. It is undeniable that individuals must understand why it happens, who suffers from it, risk associated with it and how the disorder can be reduced and treated. Consequently, if misunderstood or mistreated Pica can be devastating or even worse,
