If aiming to become a physical therapists, people have to hold a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program, more and more positions are currently requiring doctoral degrees. So with that information, individuals probably would want to look into all the options before choosing a program. It would be more rewarding to choose a doctoral program because there would be more job opportunities available after graduating with a doctrine degree. On the other hand, for an individual to become a physical therapists assistant only a two year associate degree is required in most states, which would be quicker but there would not be as many benefits as there is to be a physical therapists. A physical therapists usually starts out as a staff therapists, where they develop their clinic skills. For an individual that is a physical therapists they can advance on to become a team leader, clinic coordinator, program director, clinic manager, etc.….depending on the setting, each job may have a different unique title. Physical therapists assistants with a great amount of experience eventually gets advancements, in a way. An individual that works as a physical therapists assistant usually does not get a promotion to a higher title unless they increase their level of education to become a physical therapists. However it is possible for physical therapists assistant to be given greater responsibility and better pay. The career path for becoming a physical therapists or physical therapists assistant has many opportunities for advancement and promotions to eventually be able to retire from a successful
