Saving the people around the country and the world from sickness is their goal, as well as mine. We both have a common mind set for our future to become doctors. I am rushing not for a higher social status in college, but because I know it can help me turn my dream into reality. A dream of helping the sick both physically and emotionally.
As I was walking into a big conference room, called the bear cave in Pentland hills, I saw them. If you fail to do so a second time, they will tell you to leave the fraternity. There has been situations where they had to and it was hard to see them go because everyone gets really close to one another. Another challenge is that if the ninety-four percent acceptance rate to medical school is not met internationally the fraternity of a certain campus can be disbanded. This is a reason why they try to get the best of the best pre-med students who rush for this certain fraternity. The way the budget process works for PhiDE is they are partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network. All the fundraised money goes directly to them and no money is to be hold for the fraternities benefit. The also have dues for being an active member, such as to get little things from the fraternity like the letters, planner, etc.
After this interview that I had with Sarah, I feel like Phi Delta Epsilon is the home that will help me achieve my goals. Getting help to make it into medical school is not the only reason I want to join now. I feel like the aspect of family and just knowing I will have brothers and sisters by my side, if I ever need them, is a relief. I know that becoming a doctor is a long and extremely difficult road trip, but with them as my guide, their support and motivation is what I’ll mostly need. Being able to make a difference in this world and not just helping the sick, but really connecting with them is something that’s going to affect both physicians and their patients in a positive way. What this fraternity does for the Children’s Miracle Network has blown my mind away because every penny they raise they send it out to them. With the money they fund for the Children’s Miracle network, they help support research and training, purchase expensive equipment needed, and pay for uncompensated care for children’s family
