Pharmacy Technicians is a career that has evolved and is in high demand in today’s society. One must become certified before they are allowed to work in a pharmacy thanks to the Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practice. Furthermore, this allows Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT) to meet the challenges and fulfill their supporting roles in drug preparation and distribution. Pharmacy Techs are certified to assist Pharmacist with keeping pharmacy operations running smoothly. To become CPhT there are certain requirements needed such as: High School diploma, two forms of identification, school or on-the-job training, and must pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).
