This article peaked my interest, I knew how alcohol affected the body but I wanted to know how it affected the brain. I scrolled down to the bottom to see who did the research on this study and how I could do that in the future. This directed my goals towards Neuropsychopharmacology. I have always loved science, but this newfound passion has given me the confidence I need to apply for UW. Before I found this article, I almost gave up on schooling because of struggling with mental illness. I knew I had some degree of anxiety and depression, but I may be forming a mood disorder and that’s causing a lot of obstacles for me. My illness has progressively gotten worse throughout my life, but I am currently in counseling undergoing treatment. I have always struggled with my identity and self-esteem. I knew I wasn’t straight in middle school and fought it because of the conservative nature of my small town. I came out to my mom and she made me promise not to tell anyone because my family could find out. I have found many friends that support my decisions and aid in my self-actualization. I’ve found myself in my friends and I’ve helped them with their goals. I believe that no matter the circumstances, someone will always being willing to help me, even if it can only
