Pharaoh's Secret Text Review

Decent Essays
This semester for my independent text review I studied “the pharaoh's secret” by clive cussler and wrote an in depth evaluation of the story, characters and writing style for my text review. I choose clive cusslers “the pharaoh's secret”, because having recently read the book I was aware that I would have to leave a negative review. This is something I have not encountered before when reviewing pieces of text.
As of this year I have been co managing the common room area during the end of day chores with Anastasia and Lily. More recently I have had a big role in the kitchen as a leader during lunch dishes and in the pre cabaret catering crew.

The most memorable self expression for me was cabaret as it really pushed my limits and helped me

When he came to the United States, he lived in the Lower East Side of New York City in lodging houses where he became familiar with what life was like in poverty. Eventually, Riis got a job as a reporter for the police department and was able to engage himself in the work of photography in the process. He used the job opportunity to show the oblivious public how the other half of America was living in cramped and filthy crime filled neighborhoods. Inspired by New York City’s poor tenement life, Riis started took a camera while he was walking the streets at night and the photos appeared in newspapers and magazines.…

I want to be a Link Crew Leader because I would love to be able to mentor freshman as my previous Link Crew Leaders did to me. I also feel that becoming a Link Crew Leader would not only allow me to help shape freshman to become better people but to help me become a better person myself. I have been both a volunteer at a summer program for first and second graders and an assistant coach for the special needs program at Alta Loma Little League. At the summer program I was tasked with teaching 3 classes of first graders to type and code. This leadership position not only taught me how to actively communicate with people who learn in different ways, but also taught me to become a stronger leader.…

My most significant leadership role has been my position as a color guard captain and marching band leader. I have learned to be observant of negative attitudes and how to avoid allowing situations to arise in which team mates might negatively criticize each other. I have also learned to maintain a productive atmosphere when our supervisors are busy with administrative organization. Most importantly, I have learned to lead by example, which includes maintaining a positive and energetic attitude and holding my self-standards high and always being respectful to the adults involved in the marching band program.…

I finished reading the book Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan on April 18, 2017. A part that disappointed me was when I found out that Sadie’s mom died, because if I was in Sadie's position I would feel like have a part of me missing and probably cry once in awhile, especially thinking about the fact that I would not be born without her. While reading the book,I wondered if the stranger in the the beginning of the book was actually their mother because in most books the mysterious person is almost always someone who he/she knows or is related to. My favorite character is Carter, because even when Sadie does thing she shouldn’t be doing or starts to act like a brat Carter never gets annoyed and makes sure she is safe. While reading the book, I got…

A time that I have ever taken a leadership role was when I was a junior staff at Kid’s Clubhouse when I was 14. We had taken the kids to the Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh, NC because the place we were going to go had been closed down. It was organized chaos and the kids were wanting to run around the place but we had to remember that everyone was suppose to be back at the bus by 3:30 pm. The time went by and and my partner lost track of time so I had to stand up and tell her that we had to go so that we would not get yelled at.…

In my senior year of high school, I became the flute section leader. It had been a position I had tried out for once before, my junior year, but lost out to a senior. I was responsible for teaching the rookies and guiding the upperclassman through the processes of learning the show music, the pep band music, and the proper marching technique. In addition, I had to always be prepared for the off chance that someone would forget something necessary for either the football games and competitions. Lastly, I made sure that as a section everyone was in a position to give a hundred percent at every performance.…

The Secret In the film The Secret, Esther Hicks claims, “Whatever it is you are feeling is a perfect reflection of what is in the process of becoming” is true. After this claim is made, Bob Doyle tries to support it by saying that if someone rolls out of bed and stubs their toe and allows it to affect their mood it will create a spiral affect that can ruin a persons’ day. I agree with this claim but to a certain extent when it’s broken down and applied to certain situations because of my knowledge of the world and background information. Breaking this claim down and applying it to a real life situation makes it easier to evaluate.…

My goal is visual storytelling for print and digital that is content-driven, clear and easy to navigate. I accomplish this by collaborating and communicating with photo and word editors. In addition to my design responsibilities, I help make sure design desk schedules are accurate and posted in a timely manner, fix plotter paper jams, resolve digital issues, manage page flow, convert graphics to our style or correct them, provide detailed explanations of workflow issues, create illustrations and provide help to my colleagues when needed.…
