Petey

If understood the story is not anti woman.
Max gave Petey his dad’s raccoon coat in a handshake type deal for Petey’s permission to try and court Polly. Max got a shot at Polly, Polly learned something from Max, Max learned something from Polly. She liked Petey. Petey ended up with Polly.
Polly and Petey were friends, they never had an exclusive relationship. Max asked Petey if he could date Polly in exchange for his father’s raccoon coat. All of this sounds very chauvinistic and would appear to look exactly like Max traded a coat for his “keen” interest in Polly. Polly and Petey had dates but also had other dates, Max was no more then just another date no different then anyone else. Petey never told Polly she had to spend time with Max.

Petey figured what’s the difference Polly and him are just friends they have no lables on their relationship.
It would be no different then if polly had dates with someone else. Dating Max instead of Petey. Was no different in the sense that Peter and Polly had an understanding the max may or may have not known about. He had nothing to lose. In reality he never had to give Petey anything because she was free like Petey, Max, and Polly. Only victim is the raccoon.
In the end everyone got what they deserved except the raccoon. Max fell short thinking he needed Petey‘s permission, he didn’t. He made assumptions and in the in his lack of eve dance was his down fall he assumed he needed permissions petey Probably told Polly max traded a raccoon coat for. Petey had something I wanted. Being potential candidate for law school Max assumed that he needed permission to date Polly from Petey he didn’t this was an assumption and in the end this fallacy lead to his demise. Little did he know. Polly always in control here made a choice on her own freewill to exclusive date Petey raccoon or not. Max missed out. He was superficial and using the wrong angles to court Polly and she may have seen right through maxis tricks. Logic is great but if and when you ever make assumptions it defeats logic and creates fallacies. Which love itself is full

His text, Responsa, Aseh Lecha Ra , 1:42, teaches that the cherem d’rabbeinu gershom can be violated if it is for one’s own safety, mentioning a time when a female student’s communications with a male criminal were monitored by the school for her own safety. In this instance, Max simply created a Snapchat that was not meant to shame Elizabeth to the public, but rather, to make a few of his trusted friends laugh, and Max was betrayed by Jonathan, whom he had trusted with this information. This is not to say that Max was to proceed without punishment. A more viable and reasonable punishment that Dr. Davis could have enforced would be to remove Max from the presidential race. Although Max had no intent to harm Elizabeth, the joke was in poor taste, and not in the manner of a school…
