Persuasive Speech On Caregiving Our Veterans

Decent Essays
It is important to keep on honoring our veterans because they risked their lives for us. We need to honor them so that they feel special and they need to know that everyone around the U.S. is very thankful for them. Without veterans the U.S. would be lost. Our history would be totally different. Would the U.S. still be here? We’ll never know, but what we do know though is that we did win the war and those battles because of our veterans. Veterans helped us keep peace in our country. The only reason we are free is because of our veterans. Thank you to all those veterans out there.

The question being asked of me is “Why Veterans are Important to Our Nation’s History and Future?” Veterans are important to me because I live with two of them and I have a lot of them in my family. Without them, I wouldn’t know the reason why we have people sacrificing themselves for our country. My Grandpa, Roy Noble, always said that “War is not good but fighting for our country is,” I didn’t really understand that until I realized without them we wouldn’t have a free country. Britain would have taken over and we would have a queen instead of a president, or something like that.…

For veterans, sacrifice is a constant in their lives, be it the sacrifices they make at home, to leave their family and friends behind them for their country's sake, or on enemy lines, when they're selflessly putting their lives at stake for us. They become veterans because of their patriotism, their dedication to those around them, the pursuit of freedom, and for their beliefs. Everything this country is built on is protected by veterans’ blood, sweat, tears, and hard work. These sacrifices and their work are what make veterans so important. They pledge their lives to ensuring our safety and well-being, and when they come home, there is nothing to distinguish them from an everyday person.…
