The United States is approaching the crisis by accepting refugees into the homeland and donating money. President Obama vowed to take in 10,000 refugees by the end of September. With islamophobia and the fears of terrorism, most countries would like to set up a more selective immigration policy. Canada is completely opposite. The government and its people are wanting to embrace and care for the refugees and in some cases even financially support them. Financially supporting a refugee in Canada is called Private Sponsorship. Private Sponsorship is actually quite popular in Canada with over 12,000 refugees being sponsored. This “welcomed attitude” has caused more than 32,000 refugees to relocate to Canada. The Canadian government is providing health care and housing to around 17,000 refugees. With the effort of accepting refugees, the Canadian government has also built 32 communities. In these communities, the refugee can find support, healthcare, food, and housing. Overall Canada has given almost 1 billion dollars and is used to give humanitarian, security, and developmental
