The girls ran the hard workout days, just like the guys did. The girls practiced everyday and ran the same workouts as the boys. The girls ran at every meet, working hard for PR’s. The boys ran at almost every meet too, but sometimes runners would randomly sit out meets, therefore the girls put more effort into the races than some of the boys. The girls didn’t get to state, but the had a much harder competition at their qualifying site. They worked hard, even though they fell short in the end. All of the boys and girls, including the JV teams, worked hard throughout the season, and deserve the same shirts.
Since the JV boys get the shirt, there is no reason the girls shouldn’t. The JV boys didn’t run at state, but they are still considered part of the team. The girls didn’t run at state, and suddenly aren’t part of the team. If someone is going to give a free shirt to some runners that didn’t run at state, you have to give it to everyone that didn’t. They can’t just give it to the boys, that is being sexist and it isn’t fair. The JV boys worked hard throughout the season, and they do deserve the shirt. However, the girls worked just as hard and also deserve the same treatment, which they aren’t
