Persuasive Essay On Smoke Free Campus

All campuses should be smoke free, it is a safer environment for both staff and students. Smokers and tobacco companies may argue that smoking on campus or anywhere public will not affect people who aren’t smoking; but that has respectfully been proven wrong. A smoke free campus is the best type of campus. It not only encourages smokers to quit but it raises the conversational fact of smoking’s effects, and the disturbing secrets of big tobacco companies and its products. One of the best effects of having a smoke free campus is the impact it has on smokers and non –smokers. A lot of cigarette representatives will argue that there is no harm in smoking, especially to the individuals who aren’t behind, “the puff.” Sadly both those statements aren’t true, did you know that over 1075 smokers and 137 second hand smokers die from smoke related deaths every day. Most of these deaths are provided by the 69 different animal and human carcinogens implanted in cigarettes every day. Carcinogens are substances that are capable of causing cancer in living tissue. Many smokers and big tobacco companies will argue that there is no effect on the students and teachers if smoking were allowed. That it is sad that a campus would take a person’s freedom away. They would argue that taking the right away to smoke on a campus is wrong. What is really wrong is that these big tobacco companies are like wolves in sheep’s clothing, they argued that smoking gives you individuality just to cover up that smoking causes cancer and emphysema. Which is what they did for over fifty years until they were exposed. What is sad is that smokers are just slave like zombies. They’ll break their backs just to make money, so that they’ll be able to buy their murderous
