Have you ever thought what the world would be like if the drinking age was raised to 25? For me, I know it would be a great thing to do. People who are alcoholics probably won’t be happy but it isn’t really about them but it’s more about the safety of this world. According to a recent report, 63% of people that are aged around 18-24 say the drink to get drunk and 35% say that the aren’t able to stop drinking once they have started.
One reason to raise the drinking age to 25 would prevent less drunk driving incidents. A statistic shows that in 2011, people the ages 21-24 had the highest percentage of drivers that had above a 0.08 BAC level. Also in the same year showing from the statistics, there has been 9,878 people killed in drunk related car accidents. Studies show that 73% of college students drink sometime which includes 7.4 drinks a week are consumed by males. The bad thing about this alcohol problem is that students have been reported missing classes and studies show that one fifth of kids have failed an exam due to an alcohol problem. The saddest part about it is that alcohol is involved with 90% sexual assaults on college campuses.
Lastly, there has been tons of research saying that alcohol has the ability to affect a teenager's brain more than an adult's brain. From the studies, a teenager's brain is able to develop a dose of tolerance. The meaning of that is that they have the ability to not get drunk when they drink more alcohol. The bad part about it takes them longer to feel dizzy and get sick so they will most likely keep drinking. Another bad thing about is that it messes up their brain development when they consume more alcohol. One thing to remember is that the more you consume, the less productive you
