California Drought Analysis

I have always been interested in climate change, in the same line as global warming. I would like to learn more about how the communities and big businesses is causing damage to the climate. I remember one of my friends told me that if you leave your water running outside in your lawn you will be fined, which came as a shock to me. I never thought of getting a fine for watering your own lawn. In our society today, human emission caused more pollution than ever; there must be a solution that we can work together to improve our health and cleaner air. As of 2015, California had one of the worst droughts in the decade. This is not just a California drought problem; not having water will affect our crops. This soon will become our whole food system. I was reading an article about the drought and it showed the timeline comparison of 2012-2015 droughts. According to the U.S.D.A. (U.S. Department of Agriculture), there was a North American heat wave. During that heatwave, there was a dramatic climate change that caused the atmosphere to produce a severe heat wave—excessively hot weather with high humidity. …show more content…
According to Burroughs tropical deforestation increased from 11.8 million per year in the 1970’s to 15.4 million in 1980s (pg. 98). Deforestation and forest degradation is a fifth of global greenhouse gas emissions. Forests have a vital role to play in the fight against global warming. Forests and it soil can help absorb and store carbon dioxide and harmful gasses, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and release oxygen (Schimel p.135), but if forests are cleared or disturbed we will lose out on the benefits of having tons of tress. Trees can converse water to air vapor which help reduce heat. According to NCSU one large tree can supply a day 's supply of oxygen for four people and they also mention that with one healthy tress alone can store up to 13 pounds of carbon each
