Gambling is a HUGE controversial topic, because they are the supporters who see all the advantages of gambling and the critics of gambling who say that it is a bad thing because it can lead to addiction and sometimes even depression. However gambling is a huge powerhouse of this economy. Even though some people may argue that gambling causes addictions and people to lose all their money, the united states needs gambling because all of the huge benefits of it. That means that more casinos will open and with more casinos opening, more jobs will be created. In Las Vegas alone, casinos have hired 169,167 people (Topic: Casino Industry). Since all these jobs will be created a lot of money will be able to go into circulation and will be able to bring up the economy as a whole. For example people will have money and since people have more money they will spend more money and since people are spending more money more jobs will be required and more opportunities will appear. Another plus about the fact that gambling brings so much money and creates money is the taxes. And since gambling is able to produce a huge profit for the state they are able to make their cities look better and be able to attract more tourist to their state. For example in Pennsylvania the national tax revenue for commercial casinos is 2.45billion (Topic: Casino Industry). Even though this might seem impressive it is a pretty normal number for the gambling industry. Why you might ask, well it is because gambling is one of the longest known hobbies, dating back to 40,000 years ago (The History of Gambling). Also since casinos are an amazing way of generating profit it is able to pay that many taxes the city will grow as a whole and more things will be able to move into the city, such as a six flags and other things. For example gambling is able to bring people together and help them relive stress, help rekindle a lost friendship or even maybe star a new relationship. Another reason gambling is good for the economy is because it employs many people. In Nevada alone there are 167,169 people employed by casinos. (Topic: Casino Industry). Another reason is that gambling brings in a huge amount of taxes to the state and, if the city or state has more money it will be able to fix up the city, make renovations or maybe even build more tourist attractions! Lastly Gambling is the back bone of the United States because of all the advantages it provides. Even though some people may not agree because gambling is extremely addicting. It is honestly the addicts fault they do not have to spend there money like that they can go and spend it any other ways but if they choose to spend it like this its their problem and if they truly have that much of a problem that they cant control themselves they should invest in an accountant so they can manage their
