If the punishment for drinking and driving were higher, more people would stop doing it. There are facts that show “50-75% of convicted drunk drivers continue to drive on a suspended license (Madd).” Another reason is that people can’t get around as easily so it causes problems for other people. Many people may still drive without a license and they could get caught and get an even bigger fine for having to drive without a license.
