Imagine life without the internet! The internet is a mass jungle of information that has become mainstream for many computer users to obtain abundant amounts of knowledge along with entertainment and communication. People surf the internet for many diverse reasons ranging from the gathering of the latest information, buying and selling (shopping), entertainment, and social media. Surfing the internet has become an increasing daily routine for most people. First, the Internet is a great avenue to find the latest information on items including media, health, and education. The internet offers substantial entertainment such as music, books and novels, and, of course, games. These past times leave the users very amused and relaxed. For instance, YouTube is a website where one can visit and view ones’ favorite songs performed by their favorite artist. Also, it is a website where aspiring artist post videos in hopes of being discovered by recording studios. The Internet contains a wealth of the latest books and novels for people who enjoy reading for entertainment. These bestsellers are readily available on the internet for downloading. Also, many people spend their time playing games online for entertainment. They can play individual games, or they can play games against other people worldwide. Through websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram people are encouraged to create new relationships and keep in touch with old friends. As a result, Facebook is a social media website whereby subscribers can send a friend request to people they may know. If and when these requests are accepted users have the opportunity to share messages, photos, and videos with others. Social media allows people from different places the opportunity to connect with each other. Social media, such as Facebook, can be a resource for individuals to locate someone they are no longer associated. For example, if one is trying to locate a high school classmate all they have to do is type in their name on Facebook and compare their picture for similarities.
