We 've all heard the reviews on the benefits of drinking coffee. Perhaps you are well deserving of the "Coffee guzzler of the year" award. But, what does all of this mean? What is coffee benefiting exactly other than our personal gratification? Is it fine and dandy to keep on consuming our ample amounts per day or do we need to practice that word moderation? Like the rest of the coffee addicts in America, I consume my fair share per day. Not nearly as much lately but I would be lying if I said I didn 't consume just a "smidge" (4 cups) per day. After seeing various news telecasts and reading tons of articles on the benefits of coffee drinking, I decided to do a little digging. The coffee shop has a huge multi level patio overlooking the lake to allow patrons to take in the view while enjoying their coffee. Parking can be a problem at Mozart 's, but don 't let that deter you. Park in the lot up the hill and catch a ride on the golf cart that circles picking up patrons for the restaurants near Mozart 's. Once at the coffee shop, jump in the long line that will string you slowly past the huge dessert case, giving you plenty of time to decide what to snack on. Mozart 's always has several different types of creamy cheesecakes in the case, including turtle cheesecake with a thick layer of caramel topped with pecans and chocolate chips; red velvet cheesecake that has the slight cocoa flavor and deep red color traditional of red velvet cake; fudge brownie cheesecake on a brownie crust topped with espresso beans, chocolate chips, or cookie crumbs depending on who made the cake that day; and of course the traditional New York cheesecake swirled with cherries and topped with rum soaked cherries. If you don 't crave cheesecake, there are also many cakes to try. My husband and I split a slice of delicious Italian cream cake at Mozart 's the night we got engaged. The pillowy cake is wonderfully complemented by the coconut and almond traditional of Italian cream cake as well as the traditional cream cheese frosting. The chocolate ganache cake is one of the best decadent indulgences in Austin, consisting of a dense chocolate cake covered in a rich ganache swirled with frosting. For a summery treat, Mozart 's offers a delicious and refreshing key lime pie in a graham cracker crust. This pie is perfect with a cup of iced coffee out on the deck during the warmer months in Austin. Finally, if cookies are more your style, Mozart 's offers a wide variety of cookies, macaroons, lemon bars, brownies, and biscotti. Whatever your favorite
