As you can see, the small actions that we are doing are not enough, as you can see through the fact that CO2 levels are increasing that quickly. The CO2 in our air remained the same for millions of years, only to be risen by our releases. This shows that we have disrupted a huge system with our careless acts. Statistics prove that the temperature of our Earth is rising. The statistic from NASA states this- since 2001 we have had record high temperatures. Our planet has risen 1.53 degrees since 1800. Although this does not seem like a large amount, it has a huge impact on ecosystems. This is significant because these temperatures can cause icebergs to melt, which will raise sea levels, which will cause the following: major flooding, hurricanes, typhoons, and bigger …show more content…
As I have said many times before, what we are doing is not enough, but we can make it enough. According to the “Union of Concerned Scientist”, an organization made up of scientists and engineers dedicated to help global warming, states that, “The air and water pollution emitted by coal and natural gas plants is linked to breathing problems, neurological damage, heart attacks, and cancer. Replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy has been found to reduce premature mortality and lost workdays, and it reduces overall healthcare costs.” This reveals the devastating effects of a common product we use. This is more evidence to prove why renewable energy (energy that can be renewed; sun, water, and geothermal are all examples) is a better option- something to save yourself and the environment. The renewable energy has no negative health effects. This proves the comparison- that renewable energy is better. It is a possible concern that there would that there would be no jobs left if we eliminated non-renewable gases- but it is estimated that by 2025, renewable energy will provide over 202,000 jobs. So anyone currently working on a power plant for nonrenewable energy sources could have a job. All these benefits add up- and from the evidence above, it seems like it is way better than irreplaceable energy sources. This shows that by switching to a source of energy like solar panels, we can
